Sara Pressley, LISW LICDC

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

I want to meet you exactly where you are and work from there to accomplish your goals. Therapy can be vulnerable and meeting someone new can feel daunting. I will always go at your pace and seek regular feedback to make sure that you’re getting what you want out of our sessions. Although the work we do in session can be challenging, I am confident that we will find moments of levity and laughter, as well.

Everyone experiences life's ups and downs — including therapists! I'm grateful to be able to hold space for you during the ebbs and flows.

Who am I outside of session?

For as long as I can remember, I have loved to read and write. There’s nothing like losing yourself in a good book and even as a kid, I loved creating stories of my own. After college, I worked in book publishing in New York for a few years helping other people tell their stories. Over time, I grew to crave more personal connections and wanted to do more than just listen — I wanted help people heal.

Through my own experiences with therapy, I realized how much space and insight we can gain from quality care and I became determined to provide this to others. So, I headed back to the Midwest to start grad school and haven’t looked back since! While I loved the energy of the big city, I’m truly an Ohio girl at heart.

I find joy in the small rituals of daily life — making my morning coffee, taking my dog to the park, sending voice memos back and forth to long distance friends, baking banana bread, and gardening under the summer sun. I love the library, Lake Erie, coffee dates, yoga, and quiet mornings. I crave a slower, unplugged, and more intentional pace of life which can be difficult to achieve in our busy world — you can trust that I am learning right alongside you!

My background in communications is foundational to my clinical practice and I believe that healing happens within the context of relationships — with ourselves and others. Connection is key to feeling less alone in this world, unlearning old patterns, and making strides toward a future that feels hopeful and fulfilling on your terms.
